Excelraise, LLC is seeking an Application Systems Python Developer for our client in Raleigh, NC.
DHHS Information Technology Division (ITD) is seeking a skilled Application Systems Python Developer to design, develop, and support data pipelines, dashboards, integrations, and migration processes across enterprise systems within the Office of the NC Chief Medical Examiner. This role plays a key part in moving data between legacy and modern platforms, ensuring data quality, and enabling analytics and automation through Python and Power BI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain data migration scripts, ETL pipelines, and automation workflows using Python
- Design, build, and optimize data models for reporting and analytics
- Create interactive dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions using Power BI
- Perform data extraction, transformation, validation, and loading between databases, APIs, and enterprise systems
- Optimize data processes for speed, reliability, and scalability
- Work with SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects to support migration and reporting
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands on experience with Python
- Proficiency with Power BI
- Experience designing and executing data migration or data conversion projects
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, Ingres)
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance requirements
- Strong troubleshooting ability and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Experience with Java development
- Experience with version control (Git/Subversion) and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of Power BI administration, workspaces, gateways, and deployment strategies
- Experience with large-scale migration or modernization initiatives
